Young Red Shouldered Hawk

This hawk sat in my oak tree, regurgitated a small snake and ate it. It then wiped its beak on the branch, ruffled up its feathers, pooped and then flew off. What a great show!

Nest building time Spring 2004

May 10, 2006 These are of the hawk plucking the fur off a mouse, then he was harassed by two hummingbirds. He finally took the mouse to the nest and went back on the hunt.

Eagles

Eagles Bald Eagle pair next to the nest that CalTrans has put a cone over to discourage the pair from nesting there (2007-08) due to major construction set to begin. They do not want the pair to abandon the nest once the chicks are born because of all the noise of construction. The eagle pair were just sitting there, then one flew off making several circles then came on on the coned nest. I couldn't tell if it was trying to attack it or sit on it. Here is the series that I saw.
